Sitting alone on a rainy Sunday evening listening to Pandora and drinking white wine out of the bottle.  Portrait of a tortured artist without all that chronic depression or actually being tortured at all, really...

Basically, this is an interview with both yourself and one of your original characters. Mine is with Jekyll, who inspired my profile name.



1. Hello, there! Please, introduce yourselves!

Jamie: "I'm Jamie Sykes, writer for the 7th Hall."
Jekyll: "I'm Jekyll Fenreed."


2. Well, it's a pleasure to meet both of you - tell me, are you ready to begin?

Jamie: "Of course! This should be interesting."
Jekyll: "'Interesting', right..."


3. Okay! First question: What do you guys think about each other?

Jamie: "Well, he is essentially me in a fantasy environment, but he ended up being a bit more of an ass than I intended."
Jekyll: "What he's saying is he's an ass."
Jamie: "I don't appreciate that! At least I don't set people's bones on fire!"
Jekyll: "For the last time, that was an accident!!!"


4. ... I see - tell me what inspired you to create ?

Jamie: "Well, I-"
Jekyll: "The whole thing started out as this awful video game parody webcomic. Original, right? It took him over a year to come up with something more clever, and even now he's still working out the kinks."
Jamie: "Okay, well what have you done lately?"
Jekyll: "I think I'm starting to finally figure out how I made that toad immortal."
Jamie: "No, you're not. That would ruin the joke."
Jekyll: "You cruel bastard."


5. Jekyll, do you feel that your creator ever abuses you?

Jekyll: "I'm a scientific-minded character in a world where the laws of physics LITERALLY bend to better suit the story, what do you think?"


6. What is the one thing that you most envy about each other?

Jamie: "Magic powers, for sure."
Jekyll: "Not being persued by debt collectors."
Jamie: "..."


7. Oh, really? Then what would be the one thing that you would change about the other, if you could?

Jamie: "I would make him act nice more often, but he needs to be there to act as a foil for Wiegley."
Jekyll: "I would change his rigid adherence to literary philosophy..."


8. Hmm... Interesting choice... Now, then what is one thing that you've always wanted to see Jekyll doing?

Jamie: "Showing everyone who's ever doubted him how strong he can be."


9. Would you ever do what your creator just said?

Jekyll: "Huh, he might not be such a bad guy after all... Can we hurry the plot along to that bit, please?!"


10. If the both of you could swap places, for a day, what do you think would happen?

Jamie & Jekyll: "He would blow himself up trying to continue my experiments."


11. Would you ever draw Jekyll doing something perverted?

Jamie: "Well, he is due to get a girlfriend soon, but I think he's too much of a prude to want to be on-panel doing something kinky."
Jekyll: "That's what you think, just remember I'm based on you."


12. Jekyll, do you think your creator is perverted?

Jekyll: "More than he'd like to admit."


13. Through some weird kind of magic, Jekyll has become a real person!

Jamie: "I must study his abilities, FOR SCIENCE!"
Jekyll: "What?"
Jamie: "Nobody else can do magic in this world, I have to figure out how it works, and then we can rule the world!"
Jekyll: "Knowing our luck, we would just blow ourselves up."


14. Jekyll, somebody just insulted your creator! What do you do?

Jekyll: "Smile."


15. If there was one thing that each of you could have that the other owns, what would it be?

Jamie: "Either the hat or Levitoad. The hat has a handy pocket-dimension inside, but the toad is just cool."
Jekyll: "A job."


16. Do you like to mess around with Jekyll, when you draw him?

Jamie: "He ends up in frustrating situations a lot, so I guess so."


17. Jekyll would you ever mess with your creator, if you could? If so, then what would you do?

Jekyll: "Let him get close to his goal, then move it. Again and again."
Jamie: "That's cruel!"
Jekyll: "It's called a 'plot'."
Jamie: "Oh, damn..."


18. What is one thing you always wanted to say to your creator?

Jekyll: "Don't kill me."


19. Jamie, is there anything that you've always wanted to ask your character, if you could?

Jamie: "What does it feel like to fly?"
Jekyll: "We haven't gotten to that part of the story yet."
Jamie: "Oh, whoops. Spoiler alert, I guess."


20. You two would make a lovely couple...

Jekyll: "Since we're essentially the same person, does that count as masturbation?"
Jamie: "WHAT?!"
Jekyll: "Heh, I was hoping for that reaction."

21. *snickering* Sorry - I just had to say that! Can you forgive me?

Jamie: "Hey, Jekyll, do you remember what solves most problems?"
Jekyll: "Fireball."

22. Alright! I suppose I'll let you go, then!

Jekyll & Jamie: "Probably for the best."

Dabbling in poetry because all of my photo ideas require money.

Journal felt stale.  New photography should be expected mid-January, along with some of my other projects.  Right now there's Finals Week and Christmas Vacation to be thinking about.
